Type KingdomPrivacy Policy
Type Kingdom ("we", "us") is a personality and self-reflection experience. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use service providers, and the choices available to you. Type Kingdom is being developed primarily for a United States audience, while visitors may use the service from other locations. Privacy rights can vary depending on where you live.
What we collect
The 30-question Personality Snapshot
Your individual answers to the free 30-question Personality Snapshot are answered and scored in your browser. When you finish the questions, we ask for your first name, last name and email address before revealing your Guardian result. We store those contact details in our customer database so we can save and support your Type Kingdom journey.
After the result is calculated, we may also store the derived result needed to understand where you are in the journey, such as your Personality Type, Guardian, Compass Approach and assessment version. We do not send the 30 individual free-answer choices to our contact database merely because you reveal the free result.
Marketing choice at the result gate
The result form includes a separate, optional marketing checkbox. It is not pre-selected and you do not need to select it to see your free result. If you actively select it, we record evidence of that choice and may send you personalised insights, journey reminders, product news, unfinished-purchase reminders and occasional promotions. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
If you do not select the marketing checkbox, we still retain the contact and assessment record needed to save and support your Type Kingdom result, but we do not treat that as permission to add you to promotional email campaigns.
Behavioural Style
If you continue into the free Behavioural Style experience, its result can be linked to the same Type Kingdom journey so you do not need to repeat it if you later purchase The Deeper You. The site may keep assessment progress and results in browser storage to support continuation and return visits.
The Deeper You
If you begin buying The Deeper You, information needed to create and fulfil the purchase is sent to our servers. This can include your contact details, the free assessment data required to verify your result, your Behavioural Style information, order status and, once the paid assessment begins, answers to the additional paid questions.
Your card details are entered on Stripe's checkout and are not provided to Type Kingdom as full payment-card numbers. We receive payment and order status information needed to fulfil your purchase. Once a Deeper You guide is finalised, the product is designed to retain the generated report and the records needed to support access while removing individual raw paid-assessment answers according to the product's retention process.
Other information
- Contact messages, such as your name, email and message, if you contact us.
- Email delivery records, such as whether a Type Kingdom email was queued, sent, failed, unsubscribed or suppressed.
- Order and fulfilment records needed to operate purchases, refunds, disputes and report access.
- Technical security information that our hosting and service providers process to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
How we use personal information
- To save, reveal and support your Type Kingdom result and journey.
- To let you continue from your free profile into Behavioural Style and The Deeper You.
- To process purchases and provide paid reports and access links.
- To send service messages you request or that are needed to deliver a purchase.
- To send marketing only where the applicable marketing permission is recorded.
- To honour unsubscribe, suppression, privacy and support requests.
- To prevent abuse, diagnose failures and protect the security of Type Kingdom.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Email preferences
Marketing permission and service delivery are kept separate. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending a message that is necessary to fulfil or support a purchase you made, unless a broader do-not-contact restriction applies. Marketing emails will provide an unsubscribe mechanism. We also maintain suppression records so a marketing opt-out is not accidentally reversed by a later import or duplicate record.
Service providers
We use service providers to operate Type Kingdom. Depending on how you use the service, these can include Vercel for website and application hosting, Neon for database hosting, Resend for email delivery and Stripe for payment processing. These providers process data under their own applicable terms, privacy commitments and legal obligations and may process information in countries different from your own.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including providing your result or purchase, maintaining consent and suppression evidence, meeting accounting or legal obligations, resolving disputes and protecting the service. Different records can have different retention periods. We will continue refining and documenting product-specific retention rules as Type Kingdom moves from testing into commercial operation.
What is stored in your browser
Type Kingdom uses browser storage for parts of the assessment experience, including in-progress answers and results, so you can continue the journey without starting again. A purchased report can also use strictly necessary access cookies. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site behavioural advertising trackers.
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and to receive information about how it is used. You may also unsubscribe from marketing at any time. We will evaluate requests under the laws that apply to the request and to Type Kingdom.
To make a privacy request, contact hello@typekingdom.com. We may need to verify enough information to confirm that the request relates to you before acting on it.
United States state privacy laws
Some United States states provide additional privacy rights when a business and consumer fall within the scope of that state's law. Where such a law applies to Type Kingdom, we will honour the rights and notices required by that law. Type Kingdom does not currently sell personal information, and we do not use the assessment database for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Children
Type Kingdom is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 through the result gate. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how Type Kingdom handles personal information, we will update this page and revise the date and notice version above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request a new choice rather than treating an old marketing permission as agreement to materially different uses.
