TypeKingdom Type Guide

The educational side of TypeKingdom · Updated 2026-08-10

Clear, honest reference material on the frameworks behind your free TypeKingdom assessment, and how the Guardians of Compass Kingdom relate to them.

What is MBTI?

A 16-type framework built on Carl Jung's psychological types (1921), refined by Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers. It describes how you think: how you're energised (E/I), how you take in information (S/N), how you decide (T/F) and how you organise your life (J/P).

What is DISC?

A four-style model based on William Moulton Marston's work (1928). It describes how you behave: what others observe in how you handle challenges (D), people (I), pace (S) and rules (C). Most people lead with one style and blend in a second.

How are they different, and how does TypeKingdom combine them?

MBTI looks inward at thinking and deciding; DISC looks outward at observable behaviour. One without the other is half a picture. TypeKingdom runs both assessments and combines them into a single profile. Your MBTI type also determines which of the sixteen Guardians reflects you.

How do Guardians relate to personality types?

Each of the 16 MBTI types is reflected by one Guardian of Compass Kingdom, a character who embodies that type's strengths and philosophy for life through the Circle of Balance. Your Guardian is a meaningful interpretation of your result, not a replacement for it. Like all self-report tools, results are best used for self-reflection and communication, not diagnosis.
